Over 14 years ago, I experienced severe muscle stiffness in my neck that was limiting my daily life. I was sent by my enlightened physician to a massage therapist and within two months of treatment, I had full range of motion back. Within one month of that, I was enrolled in massage therapy school. I practice massage therapy because I know it works.
After working at local spas and health clubs, I decided to open "Quiet Cove" as a respite and healing space for myself and others.
In this quiet space that I have created, we can truly pause, we are not rushed, we can relax, and we can ease discomfort. My main goal is to help relieve the stress that is carried in the body that is the cause of so many problems and illnesses. I do this by combining some or all of the different techniques that I have learned over the years.
I am a life time learner and enjoy taking the required continuing education classes required by the state of Connecticut to maintain my license. In addition to Swedish and Deep Tissue massage, I am trained in Reflexology, Raindrop Therapy, Healing Stone Massage, massage for Fibromyalgia, and Geriatric massage. I recently attended a seminar on Lymphatic Facilitation to increase my knowledge of working with those afflicted with cancer.
In addition to my private practice, I am on staff as an instructor in the Massage Therapy Program at Branford Hall Career Institute. I love the field of massage therapy.
